Dublin take on Roscommon this weekend in Phase 2 of this year’s All Ireland Super 8s
All Ireland Super 8s Phase 2
Dublin v Roscommon
Saturday, July 20th. 7:00pm
Croke Park, Dublin
Dublin despatched Cork in a more than entertaining game last Saturday night in Croke Park. And this Saturday they return again, this time to face Roscommon in Phase 2 of the All Ireland Super 8s.
Twelve months ago, Dublin trashed the Rossies 4-24 to 2-16 in the Quarter Final tournament. Bernard Brogan made a cameo, bringing the house down despite only being on the field for 5 minutes, marking his return from cruciate ligament surgery.
It was a dominant performance for Jim Gavin’s side, with Eoghan O’Gara, Paul Flynn and Michael Darragh Macauley all finding the net. Roscommon chalked two green flags themselves with goals from Donie Smith and Gary Patterson.
It will be interesting to see what this Saturday’s fixture will bring, maybe even another cameo appearance. A win for Dublin will see them comfortably through to a fifth consecutive All Ireland Semi Final before they even face Tyrone in Omagh in the final phase.
