All Ireland Senior Football - Live Updates

Dublin v Mayo
All Ireland Senior Football Quarter Final
Sunday, July 2nd. 4:00pm
Croke Park, Dublin

On August 14th 2021 a dejected Dublin Senior Football panel left the playing surface of Croke Park after a three point loss to Mayo in extra time. After capturing a record six All Ireland titles in a row Dublin finally relinquished Sam Magure with Mayo finally getting one over on their rivals. They’ve not met since and quite a lot has changed since.

Dublin were consigned to Division 2 Football, capturing the Division title after a 4-06 to 0-11 win over Derry in that decider. Mayo secured their 13th league title beating Galway by 0-14 to 0-11 for Division 1 honours.

After exiting the Connacht Championship in the opening round Mayo have recovered well and wins over Kerry and Louth saw them finish in 3rd position in Group 1 and they followed that last week beating Galway in the preliminary Quarter Finals.

Dublin drew their first round game with Roscommon, but followed that with convincing wins over Kildare and Sligo to secure pole position in Group 3 and setting up today’s clash.

If nothing else we’re almost guaranteed an epic battle between two teams hard to seperate over so many years.
