Episode 11 of AIG’s Dub Club Chronicles video series features St. Peregrines GAA. An absolutely thriving club in the heart of Dublin 15 boasting 44 teams & 1000 members.
Founded in 1978, St. Peregrine’s has enjoyed many successes across all four codes of Dublin GAA.
Dublin Football star Eric Lowndes started at the club surprisingly as part of their hurling Academy at the young age of 7 and has been there ever since.
Tom Kitt has been Chairman and Vice Chairman since joining the club in 1980 and now oversees the adult section of the club’s Ladies Football teams.
Former Dublin Ladies Football Star Louise Kidd has been at Peregrines since she was 10 years old and still has fond memories of bringing the Brendan Martin Cup to the club when she was part of Dublin’s 2010 All Ireland winning side.
Naomh Peregrine is certainly an credit and an example to clubs in the Dublin area, and with young stars like Aoife and Niamh Heffernan, David McGovern and Eric of course, there’s a very bright future for the Dublin 15 organisation.
The video has been dedicated to the memory of Marianne Costello, who sadly died 11 years ago, and was a huge character and dedicated member of the club.
