One successful win to report in this week’s Inter County Results
Week Ending Sunday, August 18th 2018
So Limerick are All Ireland Hurling Champions. What a game! Really thought Galway might sneak it tight at the end but credit to Limerick for holding on. But that’s not why we’re here, we have to bring you our own Inter County Results for this week.
Liberty Insurance Premier Junior Camogie Championship
Dublin returned to Coralstown GAA club in Kinnegad yesterday afternoon, which has become a lucky charm for Shane Plowman’s Premier Junior Camogie panel. Last year it was the scene of this team’s crowning as the Littlewoods Ireland Division 3 League Champions, and once again the ground proved to be lucky.
Offaly came into yesterday’s All Ireland Semi Final as runners up in Group 1, but they were no match for Dublin’s dominance and power. Goals from Aoibhe Dillon, Aoife Bugler and Laoise Quinn helped the Dubs to their second consecutive All Ireland Championship Final. The girls were 0-06 in the lead at half time on 0-08 to 0-02 but they drove at Offaly in the second half outscoring them 3-04 to 1-01, finishing fifteen points clear on a score of 3-12 to 1-03.
Dublin will now face Kerry in this year’s Championship Final at Croke Park on September 9th. Kerry overcame Roscommon yesterday in the second semi final by 1-15 to 1-05. Like Dublin, Kerry claimed the Division 3 Littlewoods title this year and will face Dublin in league competition next year. But first they must face off against the girls in blue for All Ireland Silverware.
And that’s it for this week. Congratulations to Shane and the Premier Juniors for again reaching the Liberty Insurance Championship Final. Don’t forget to join us next week were we’ll have details of Dublin’s Senior Ladies Footballers’ TG4 Championship Semi Final with Galway.
