Another bumper week of Inter County Fixtures starts tomorrow night in Parnells GAA
Week Ending Sunday, July 29th 2018
What an absolutely brilliant weekend of action from Healy Park to Parnell Park, Roscommon down to Cork. And this week there’s another bumper batch of Inter County Fixtures. So let’s get right into it as the first one is coming tomorrow night.
Leinster Minor A Camogie Semi Final
We’ve had the Minor B Camogie team out on a couple of occasions already and tomorrow night it’s the turn of the A panel. Parnell’s GAA Club will act as the home venue as they welcome the challenge of Wexford for the Leinster Semi Final. Kilkenny are already through to this year’s Final after beating Offaly last week by 6-20 to 0-07 in Ballyhale so the Dub’s know if they’re successful tomorrow evening, they’ll have a big challenge from the Cats to look forward to.
Throw in is 7:30pm in Parnells, and we’ll be there to bring you all the action as it happens.
TG4 Senior Ladies Football Championship
Dublin Senior Ladies Footballers were comfortable winners over Cavan last Saturday in Dunleer, putting five goals past their opponents, but we expect a completely different challenge this weekend when they make to trip to Dr. Hyde Park to face last year’s All Ireland Finalists Mayo. In this year’s National League the girls in blue beat Mayo in Castlebar by two points but the stakes this weekend are a lot higher. A win for Dublin will see them top the group and put them in a strong position going into the knockout stages of the Championship.
It’s an early start in Roscommon, with throw in at 1:00pm
All Ireland Minor Hurling Championship Semi Final
The 30th of June seems like an age away, but it will be remembered for Dublin’s Minor Hurlers capturing the Leinster Championship against Kilkenny in Portlaoise. This Saturday they roll the dice one more time in an All Ireland Semi Final against Galway. It would be an unbelievable achievement for these lads to reach an All Ireland Final, and through the provincial competition they really dug deep, nothing up so massive score lines.
This Saturday’s game is the curtain raiser before the Senior Semi Final between Galway and Clare, and throw in at Croke Park is 3:00pm
Leinster Minor B Camogie Final
Dublin’s Minor B Camogie panel had a fantastic win against Kildare a couple of weeks ago, with a tinge of revenge on their minds as Kildare had beaten them in the provincial final twelve months ago. But lightning didn’t strike twice and the Dubs set up a Leinster Semi Final date with Kilkenny. The girls went to Clara and beat the Cats in their own back yard to reach the Final once again. They’ll be facing a strong Westmeath side who took out Carlow and Laois on their journey this year.
Let’s hope this year the girls in blue are coming back from St. Rynagh’s in Banagher with the Championship Silverware. Throw in is 12:30pm
All Ireland U16 Camogie Championship
Mixed fortunes for the U16 A and B panels at the weekend. The A’s suffered an eight score defeat and the B’s snatched a draw at the Cork Camogie Grounds. S the A’s have one win from two and the B’s have a win and a draw going into this weekend final round games. They’ll be welcoming the Kilkenny U16 panels to home soil for another double header to decide the placings in their groups before the knockout stages begin.
The U16B panel get the action started at 2:00pm with the A panel throwing in at 4:00pm. Both games will be played in O’Toole Park in Crumlin.
And that’s a wrap. Six games in total from tomorrow through to Sunday. Make sure you mark your calendars and try get out to some of the games. Don’t forget we’ll bring you the results from all these games at the end of the week, so stay tuned.
