Senior 1 League, Round 5
Faughs/Celtic 1-11 Lucan Sarsfields 2-09
Naomh Jude 1-07 Ballyboden St. Endas 0-13
Skerries Harps 0-07 Na Fianna 3-12
St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh 2-09 Ballinteer St. Johns 1-08
Na Fianna’s win over Skerries Harps tonight sees them close the gap and join St. Vincents at the top of the table. There’ still a good points difference between them after Round 5 but tonights 3-12 to 0-07 scoreline will be a massive boost for the girls from Mobhi Road. Ballyboden St. Endas sit in third spot, just two points behind the leaders following their 0-13 to 1-07 over Naomh Jude this evening. Judes have still only one win from four and play St. Vincents next week in Round 6.
St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh registered their second win of the competition earlier with a 2-09 to 1-08 victory over Ballinteer St. Johns. Ballinteer will be disappointed as they had the chance to move into third in the table tonight. Elsewhere Lucan Sarsfield’s one point win over Faughs/Celtic tonight sees them now with two consecutive victories and climbing the table. This leaves Faughs still sitting at the bottom of the table alongside Skerries.
Senior 2 League, Round 4
Good Counsel 3-15 Castleknock 1-13
Kilmacud Crokes 5-19 Raheny 2-02
Naomh Mearnog 2-11 St. Vincents B 3-08
Good Counsel stretch their Senior 2 lead out to four points now following tonights 3-15 to 1-13 victory Castleknock. Had Castleknock have won tonight they would have levelled things at the top heading into Round 5. Next week they face Kilmacud Crokes who had a massive 5-19 to 2-02 over Raheny in their Round 4 encounter. And on score difference that puts them above Castleknock and Cuala in the table.
In the final game of the round, both Naomh Mearnog and St. Vincents B could have done with a result tonight. Instead they share the spoils, finishing level on a 2-11 to 3-08 scoreline. Vincents face a tough task next week against Kilmacud, while Mearnogs go into their bye week.
Junior 2 League, Round 3
Commercials 1-04 Na Fianna C 2-04
St. Annes 3-06 Naomh Brid 3-04
St. Vincents D 4-07 St. Finians 2-12
Naomh Brid B, Castleknock B, St. Annes and St. Vincents are all still sharing the top spot in Junior 2, with Castleknock at a slight advantage. With their game against Cuala tonight rescheduled they’ve played one game less than the other three sides.
St. Annes got the result of the night beating Naomh Brid by two points on a 3-06 to 3-04 scoreline, with Brigids losing for the first time this year. Na Fianna C got their first win of the competition tonight, beating Commercials by 2-04 to 1-04. And St. Vincents were victorious over St. Finians by the narrowest of margins on a 4-07 to 2-12 final score.
Junior 3 League Group 1, Round 3
Naomh Padraig 1-04 Ballyboden St. Endas C 3-07
Naomh Peregrine 9-10 Round Towers 1-03
Both Lucan Sarsfield and Naomh Peregrine have had their bye weeks. And they both still sit at the top of this group. Naomh Peregrine’s 9-10 to 1-03 win over Round Towers tonight saw them catch up on Lucan. Naomh Padraig have now lost their first three game, with Ballyboden victorious over them tonight by 3-07 to 1-04.
Junior 3 League Group 2, Round 3
Kilmacud Crokes C 3-04 Na Gaeil Oga 1-02
Setanta 7-10 Erins Isle C 0-04
Faughs/Celtic and Kilmacud Crokes share the top spots in Group 2. Tonights 3-04 to 1-02 win over Na Gaeil Oga sees Kilmacud remain unbeaten. Elsewhere Setanta make some ground on the top two with their 7-10 to 0-04 win over Erins Isle.
Junior 4 League, Round 3
Ballinteer St. Johns 11-11 Wild Geese 2-01
Lucan Sarsfield D v Na Fianna D (conceded by Na Fianna)
With Na Fianna conceding to Lucan Sarsfield this evening that left only one game in the Junior 4 competition. And that saw Ballinteer St. John register eleven goals in their game against Wild Geese. That’s now Wild Geese’s third defeat, having already lost to Na Fianna and Lucan in the competition.
