Tuesday, April 23rd 2019
Well the bank holiday weekend is almost over and we’ll all be back to normality tomorrow. And as more inter county competitions start and end this week, the club scene is still in full swing. We’ll be treated to the next round on the Dublin Senior Football Championship. but let’s not forget the We Are Dublin Senior Camogie League is still speeding along. This week, more importantly tomorrow night we see Round 5 in the Senior 1 competition, Round 4 in Senior 2, and Round 3 in the Junior 2, 3 and 4 divisions. So let’s get all the details for you.
Senior 1 League, Round 5
Right at the midway point in this year’s Senior 1 league, and St. Vincents sit and enjoy their bye week at the top of the league table. They’ve gone unbeaten in four games so far, but tomorrow night Na Fianna have the chance to draw level. They head to Skerries for their Round 5 game, with Skerries yet to register their first win of the competition. Ballinteer St. John’s have an opportunity to stay close to the leading two sides as they head to St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh for their fixture. Plunkett’s have one win in two played games and will be looking to make up ground on the teams above them.
Ballyboden St. Endas and Naomh Jude are seperated by one league point in the table and that could all change depending on the result of their tie tomorrow evening. And finally Faughs/Celtic continue in search of their first league win in Senior 1. They’ll welcome Lucan Sarsfield tomorrow. Lucan finally got up and running last week with their win over Naomh Jude.
Senior 2 League, Round 4
A top of the table clash see Good Counsel and Castleknock square off tomorrow night. Both sides are unbeaten with Counsel having played one additional game due to Castleknock’s first round bye. Should Castleknock win they’ll go level on points. Cuala are the other side on four league points but sit out this week on their bye before meeting Good Counsel next week. Kilmacud Crokes and Raheny go head to head both with one league win a piece. And Naomh Mearnog face St. Vincents B, both looking for their first win.
Junior 2 League, Round 3
All to play for in Junior 2 as there have only been two of seven rounds completed. Naomh Brid and Castleknock are top of the table after two rounds. Castleknock’s scheduled game with Cuala tomorrow night will be played at a later date. Naomh Brid will head to St. Annes for their fixture looking to make their point tally up to six. St. Vincents D and St. Finians have one win each and square off tomorrow night. Elsewhere Commercials and Na Fianna C do battle, both looking to get their league campaigns off the ground.
Junior 3 League Group 1, Round 3
We’re at the half way point in the group and Lucan Sarsfield are top of the table with two wins from two. They sit out this round so there’s a chance for Naomh Peregrine and Round Towers to catch up. They face each other in their Round 3 clash. Meanwhile Naomh Padraig and Ballyboden St. Endas will play in the other tie in the group with both teams yet to win a game.
Junior 3 League Group 2, Round 3
Faughs/Celtic C are two points clear in Group 2 with Na Gaeil Oga and Kilmacud Crokes chasing close behind. Tomorrow night these two sides will face each other in a massive fixture. Setanta and Erins Isle make up the paring in the other league game, both level with one win each.
Junior 4 League, Round 3
Lucan Sarsfield D are two points clear of Ballinteer and Na Fianna in the Junior 4 competition, but they’ll have to face Na Fianna with the girls from Mobhi Road looking to steal some points. In the divisions other game, Ballinteer can also make some ground at the top of the table as they face off against Wild Geese.
