Adult Club Championships

We expected the action this afternoon to be intense, and it didn’t disappoint. And three of the Senior Semi Finals in this year’s We Are Dublin GAA Dublin Camogie Adult Club Championships have results.

Senior 1 Championship

Naomh Jude and St. Vincents will repeat last year’s Senior 1 Final next weekend, both securing their place with wins in this afternoon’s Semi Finals.

Judes with home advantage made the goals count this afternoon, beating Lucan Sarsfield by 3-12 to 0-12. Leading by 0-04 at half time, Judes had already found the net twice and struck a third in the second half to finish off Lucan and secure the win.

They’ll need a big performance next weekend if they’re to topple reigning champions St. Vincents, who looked unstoppable in the other Semi Final today against Ballyboden St. Endas. The Vincents girls steam rolled their way into next week’s decider on a 1-23 to 0-03 final score, ending Boden’s championship campaign. The Marino side were 1-11 to 0-01 the better at half time, and relentlessly continued that pressure throughout the second session. Defensively they never allowed Boden to build up any attacking threat, and they already look primed for battle next weekend.

Senior 2 Championship

St Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh secure their place in the Senior 2 final following a 1-19 to 2-08 victory over Naomh Mearnog today. Leading by three point at the break Plunketts took the game to Mearnogs, hitting 1-10 to add to their tally. Mearnogs scored a goal in both halves but their point scoring wasn’t enough to match Plunketts today. The Martin Savage side now await the winners of the second Semi Final between Skerries Harps and Cuala next week.

Castleknock book their place in the Senior 2 Shield final, beating Good Counsel by 4-11 to 2-08 this afternoon. They’ll face Ballinteer St. Johns in the decider, with Ballinteer earning a bye from the Semis.
