Adult Club Championships

Sunday, September 20th 2020

We’re not going to let the recently announced restrictions in Dublin get us down too much. And tomorrow we’ve plenty of action to look forward to in this year’s We Are Dublin GAA Dublin Camogie Adult Club Championships.

The highlight tomorrow will of course be the Inter 2 Championship Final at the National Sports Campus in Abbotstown, but there so many more games to bring you details of.

Inter 1 Championship

We’re at the Semi Finals stages of both the Inter 1 Championship and it’s Shield competition. Erins Isle, Na Fianna B, Naomh Brid and Naomh Peregrine will contest the last four for a chance to play in the grade decider.

Erins Isle topped Group 1 with an impressive three wins from three, seeing off St. Vincents B, Naomh Peregrine and Crumlin. They’ll go head to head with a strong Na Fianna B side, who finished in second position in Group B behind Naomh Brid. With a three way tie of points in the group Na Fianna ended as runners up with a weaker score difference. They beat Brigids in the second round before losing to Naomh Padraig. They finally got over the line beating Naomh Fionnbarra in their rescheduled Round 1 game.

For Naomh Brid, they have a date with Naomh Peregrine tomorrow. Brigids only lost to Na Fianna in the Round Robin stages, but racked up some big score to see them finish top. Naomh Peregrine dropped points against Erins Isle, beating Crumlin and St. Vincents B to set up this clash.

In the Shield last four clashes, Naomh Padraig lost out on a Championship slot on score difference but find themselves taking on Crumlin tomorrow for a place in this competition decider. The winners will take on whoever wins between St. Vincents B and Naomh Fionnbarra.

Inter 2 Championship

The National Sports Campus in Abbotstown will host the final of the Inter 2 Championship as Ballyboden St. Endas and Whitehall Colmcille go head to head. Boden went four for four in the Round Robin competition seeing off Naomh Olaf, CBC/Portobello and Lucan Sarsfield B. And they’ve already racked up a win over Whitehall in Round 3. But thats only a statistic as we head into tomorrow’s decider.

Whitehall Colmcille will be happy with their performances in the Inter 2 competition, but will be looking to put right that defeat to Ballyboden tomorrow. They proved they have goal scorers in their 7 green flag opener against CBC/Portobello. We’ll have live updates on our Twitter feed tomorrow, and Dublin Camogie will be streaming the game live for supporters.

Lucan Sarsfield B finished in third position just missing out on a big championship finish. They have a bye into this competition’s Shield final. Tomorrow CBC/Portobello and Naomh Olaf will go head to head for a chance to face Lucan.

Junior 1 Championship

Action still going in the Junior 1 Championship, in the form of the Shield competition. Thomas Davis were winners over Clanna Gael Fontenoy this week to advance further. In tomorrow’s Quarter Final Naomh Mearnog B and Erins Isle B square off for another chance to continue.

Junior 3 Championship

We’re at the semi finals on both the Junior 3 Championship and Shield competition. Cuala B and Naomh Brid B will contest the first of 2 Semi Finals tomorrow. Cuala topped Group 2 with three straight wins and face a Brigids side who finished runners up in Group 1 with three wins and two draws. Group 1 winners Setanta picked up four wins from five, drawing one game and they’ll take on Ballyboden St. Endas C in the second of the last four clashes.

In the Shield competition, Commercials go head to head with Lucan Sarsfield C, while St. Finians face Kilmacud Crokes C.

Junior 4 Championship

The first of two Junior 4 Championship Semi Finals will throw in tomorrow with Round Towers taking on Ballyboden St. Endas D. Round Towers finished their Group 2 campaign unbeaten with Ballyboden recording three wins and 2 losses. The second of the semi finals, between St. Annes and Faugh/Celtic C will take place next weekend.

In the Shield competition we have the last four competing tomorrow. Cuala C, Beann Eadair, Lucan Sarsfield D and Naomh Peregrine all successfully throught their Quarter Final round games last week.
