Three Junior finals will be decided this week in the We Are Dublin GAA / Dublin Camogie Adult Club Championships

Adult Club Championships

We’re literally counting down the games as this year’s We Are Dublin GAA / Dublin Camogie Adult Club Championships come to their conclusion. And this week there are more finals to enjoy. Tonight we focus in on the Junior Championships as three grades are decided over the next three nights.

Junior 1 Championship Final
Whitehall Colmcille v Kilmacud Crokes B
Monday, November 4th. 8:30pm. Bray Emmetts

There’s no denying that Whitehall Colmcille and Kilmacud Crokes B have been a tower of strength in the Junior 1 competition. And having both come out of Group 1 they’ll already be very familiar with each other.

Whitehall ended the round robin phases with a 100% record. And they potentially laid down a marker in Round 3 when they faced and beat their Championship Final opponents, winning 7-13 to 2-03. In the last four they were drawn against St. Vincents C and again showed their dominance, winning on a 2-10 to 1-01 scoreline.

For Crokes that defeat to Whitehall was the only time they dropped their guard. They’d come into that game having beaten Erins Isle B by 1-09 to 1-05. And they didn’t let the loss affect them, finishing the rest of the rounds with wins. And the momentum stayed with them in their Semi Final against Naomh Maur running out 5-10 to 3-08 victors.

Make no mistake that Round 3 result will have no bearing on tonight’s proceedings in Bray Emmetts.

Junior 3 Championship Final
Castleknock B v Naomh Brid B
Tuesday, November 5th. 8:00pm. Abbotstown Sports Campus

it’s Group 1 winners versus Group 2 winners tomorrow night in Abbotstown as the two unbeaten Junior 3 sides square to decide the title.

Castleknock B took on all comers in Group 1, seeing off St. Finians, Cuala B, Faughs/Celtic C, Setanta and Kilmacud Crokes without dropping a point in the table. Drawing Group 2 runners up Commercials in the Semi Final, the Castleknock girls handed them a 5-10 to 0-01 defeat, comfortably advancing to tomorrow’s final.

Naomh Brid b carved a similar path, Erins Isle C, Ballyboden St Endas C, Lucan Sarsfield C, St. Annes, and Commercials to go five for five. They took on a strong St. Finians side on the last four and only a point seperated the sides at the final whistle with Brids shading the victory.

This will be an intense battle tomorrow night.

Junior 2 Championship Final
Naomh Barrog v Good Counsel B
Wednesday, November 6th. 8:00pm. Abbotstown Sports Campus

It’s first versus second in this Junior 2 Camogie Final. And from the Round 2 encounter between these sides you might think that Naomh Barrog have the upper hand. But there isn’t player on the Good Counsel B panel who would agree.

Barrog played five and won five, including the 4-06 to 0-02 win over Counsel. Good Counsel Picked up the points in their other four games. And both sides had successful Semi Final results. Barrog beat fourth place St. Vincents D by 3-06 to 0-02. Good Counsel were 1-05 to 1-02 winners over third placed Na Fianna C.

Who will be crowned Junior 2 Champions of 2019.
