Fourteen games took place tonight in Junior competition to start their 2020 We Are Dublin GAA Adult Camogie Club Championships
It’s been so long since we’ve had so much action to talk about. And now it’s all coming think and fast. Tonight all the groups in this year’s Junior 2, 3 and 4 got through Round 1 of the Camogie Club Championships. Fourteen games took place in six groups spread across the three graded competitions. And there were some big score lines across the county. Let’s take a look at the results.
We Are Dublin GAA Dublin Camogie Adult Club Championships
Junior 2 – Group 1
A winning start for Castleknock B tonight on their trip to Naomh Jude B. A 5-10 to 0-08 win will breath confidence into the side as they welcome Skerries Harps in Round 2.
Skerries will be looking to win that fixture as tonight they were beaten 1-06 to 0-05 but Na Fianna’s C team. Na Fianna will look forward to a home tie with Judes in Round 2
Junior 2 – Group 2
Whitehall Colmcille start their 2020 Championship campaign with a 8-07 to 5-04 victory over St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh B. It’s an away trip to Good Counsel for Whitehall next week, with Plunketts entertaining Raheny.
And Raheny will look to pick up lost points in that game as they were on the end of a 4-05 to 0-09 loss to Good Counsel B this evening.
Junior 3 – Group 1
A big score recorded by Lucan Sarsfield’s C panel tonight on their trip to Na Gaeil Oga. The 9-12 to 1-02 scoreline was huge. Naomh Brid B await Lucan next week, with Na GAeil Oga welcoming St. Finians.
For Brigids, they had to settle for a share of the points with Round 1 opponents Setanta. Their game tonight ended 3-09 to 4-06. Setanta will be welcoming Kilmacud Crokes C to home turf in the next round. Crokes didn’t get off to the best start, losing by 7-18 to 4-06 against St. Finians in this evening’s Round 1 game.
Junior 3 – Group 2
Ballyboden St. Endas C recorded their first win of the 2020 Championship with a 4-13 to 2-06 victory over Commercials. They welcome Cuala B for their Round 2 fixture next week.
Cuala too were big winner tonight in their opener against Naomh Mearnog. They were 6-20 to 0-02 victors over the Portmarnock side, setting up that tasty tie with Boden next week.
Junior 4 – Group 1
St. Annes got off to a flying start tonight. They welcomed and beat Ballyboden St. Endas D by 8-09 to 1-02. Next week they take a road trip to face Wild Geese.
Sadly for Wild Geese their Round 1 game against Cuala C ended in defeat. Cuala were 4-04 to 0-01 winners, and now face Beann Eadair next Tuesday hoping to make it two for two.
Junior 4 – Group 2
Erins Isle C suffered defeat in their opening round game against Naomh Peregrine B. Peregrines notched up seven goals in their 7-10 to 3-03 win tonight and will be upbeat welcoming Round Towers to home soil next week. Meanwhile Round Towers scored nine goals in their 9-13 to 4-05 victory over Faughs/Celtic C.
Lucan Sarsfield D racked up the biggest victory tonight as they entertained Na Fianna D. The Lucan girls chalked a massive 10-15 to 0-02 victory. That sets up a nice Round 2 tie over Peregrines next week.
