A huge day with some huge results in the We Are Dublin GAA Dublin Camogie Adult Club Championships
Sunday, September 27th 2020
What a massive day we had today in this year’s We Are Dublin GAA Dublin Camogie Adult Club Championships. Two new Champions crowned, shield winners named, and a championship final berth secured. Let’s get you all the details.
Senior 2 Championship
It’s a massive congratulations to St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh came away from this afternoon’s Senior 2 Championship Final as the victors following a hugely entertaining game against Cuala. The game really could’ve gone either way in the closing exchanges but it was Plunketts who kept their nerve to win by a goal. Credit must go to both sides for putting in high calibre performances, it’s never nice to lose a game like this one, but Cuala can be proud of the effort they put in. The day however belongs to Plunkett’s captain Aisling Carolan, her team mates and all the management.
Inter 1 Championship
Not to be overshadowed by the Senior 2 Final, the opener this afternoon in Abbotstown was as intense. And Erin’s Isle ran out winners over Naomh Peregrine by a solitary point. Another game that really was a joy to watch, it could have went either way. But ultimately the determination of Erins Isle to get over the line was Peregrines downfall. Huge congratulations to Isles on a great win, and well done to both sides for a very sporting decider.
In the Inter 1 Shield earlier Naomh Padraig picked up the trophy, beating Naomh Fionnbarra by 2-08 to 0-09. Well done to Pats for a good finish to their season, and commiserations to Finbarrs.
Inter 2 Championship
A point seperated Lucan Sarsfield and CBC/Portobello at the end of today’s Inter 2 Shield Final. And it was the Lucan girls who picked up the last piece of silverware in the Inter 2 competition. On a scoreline of 2-09 to 2-08 it’s congratulations to Lucan.
Junior 1 Championship
Two goals seperated Faughs/Celtic B and Thomas Davis at the end of today’s Junior 1 Shield Semi Final, and it was Faughs who advance. Faughs had a bye in the quarter finals, with Thomas Davis beating Clanna Gael/Fontenoy in their last eight matchup.
Junior 2, 3 and 4 Shield Finals
We crowned 3 more Shield winner throughout the day. Raheny B were victorious over Skerries Harps B to clinch the Junior 2 Shield. In the Junior 3 Shield St. Finians were the stronger side beating Lucan Sarsfield C by 5-12 to 3-09. And Naomh Peregrine B were crowned Junior 4 Shield winners after their 5-14 to 0-03 win over Cuala C in today’s decider.
Elsewhere in the Junior 4 Championship race, St. Annes racked up a huge 9-11 to 1-00 win over Faughs/Celtic C in the competition’s second semi final. They now face Round Towers of Clondalkin next weekend to decide the Junior 4 Champions.
