Scenario Simple For Dublin To Qualify For Leinster Championship Cup Final
Leinster U16A Camogie Championship
Dublin v Offaly
Saturday 14th Of April
Venue: St David’s, Artane
Throw-In: 2pm
Dublin need a win against Offaly tomorrow afternoon in their Leinster championship game being played in St David’s in Artane to qualify for the competitions Cup final.
After an opening day win over Wexford by 1-14 to 1-08 Dublin suffered a narrow away defeat to Kilkenny by 1-08 to 1-06.
That result and Wexford’s victory over tomorrow’s opposition has left Dublin needing a victory over the Faithful County.
Offaly head into the game on the back of two heavy defeats. In round one the lost to Kilkenny by 5-10 to 2-05 and that was followed by a loss to Wexford on a scoreline of 5-10 to 3-06.
Kilkenny sit top of the group and play joint second placed Wexford in the other group game. A win for both The Cats and the Dubs will see both counties meet in the cup final.
With both Dublin and Wexford on the same number of points and score difference it throws up a few more equations.
If Wexford beat Kilkenny and Dublin beat Offaly there will be a three way tie at the top, score difference will then be used to determine the top two.
As it stands before this weekends games Kilkenny have a score difference of +16 and Dublin and Wexford have +4 apiece.
A win for Kilkenny and a loss for Dublin may still see the girls in blue into the final as long as they lose by a smaller margin than Wexford.
Even if Dublin don’t qualify for the cup final they will still have plenty to play for as they will contest the Leinster Shield final instead which will be against tomorrow’s opponents.
