Littlewoods Camogie League Relegation Finals
Division 1
Dublin v Waterford (2:00pm)
St. Brendan’s Park, Birr
Division 2
Dublin v Tipperary (5:00pm)
St. Rynagh’s GAA, Banagher

Two Dublin teams will be in action later today hoping to turn a bad situation into good. Both Dublin’s Senior and Intermediate Camogie sides face relegation battles with Waterford and Tipperary respectively.

Dublin’s Seniors, while playing some fine camogie during this year’s Division 1 campaign, failed to register a win. Beginning with a tough road trip to John Lockes in Callan they faced and lost against a Kilkenny side competing in tomorrow’s League Final. A week later they were unfortunate to suffer a second loss. The 1-14 to 4-07 scoreline against Offaly doesn’t tell the full story. Nonetheless Dublin found themselves facing a playoff against Clare last week in Birr. The girls in blue had the upper hand for massive spells of the game but saldy came up short losing the tie by 3 points.

Today it’s a must win as they face Waterford, who lost both their group games against Tipperary and Cork. Both sides will be fighting for their Division 1 status in Birr at 2:00pm

At 5:00pm The Dublin Intermediate Camogie panel will be down the road in Banagher facing a similar challenge. In the Division 2 competition, the girls put in some touhg shifts against Westmeath, Kildare and Meath. But like their Senior colleagues, they failed to register a win, leaving them facing a play off last week against Laois last weekend.

Laois came out on top last Saturday by 3-11 to 2-09. And with Tipperary losing to Derry in the other playoff, it sets up another must win for Dublin. It gets underway at 5:00pm this evening in St. Rynagh’s GAA in Banagher.
