A huge game this afternoon for Dublin in the Liberty Insurance Senior Championship
Dublin v Cork
Saturday, July 6th. 4:00pm
Parnells GAA, Coolock
Another Saturday afternoon of Liberty Insurance Camogie Championship action in the familiar surroundings of Parnells GAA Club in North Dublin. And today’s visitors come no bigger than All Ireland Champions Cork.
Frank Browne’s team are in a tricky situation after their defeat to Waterford in the last round. Every game now means so much more as Dublin hit their third game with only one win against Meath to their credit.
With four teams on 3 points sitting behind Cork, it’s all about results for the remaining fixtures. Dublin are still in with a shout of qualification, but they must at the very least pick up two wins from the remaining three games.
Cork come into today’s game two for two, beating Clare and Tipperary to date. Those two sides go head to head today and the layout of the table could look very different this evening.
The Dublin manager has made one change to his Dublin Senior Camogie team for today’s clash with the rebels.
Coming into the side is Martha O’Donoghue in place of Ellen McGovern. Besides the personnel change there is a raft of positional switches to the team which will mean Dublin will go at Cork with a new strategy. And against the All Ireland Champions they will need to be more prolific in scoring, balancing that with a tight defensive structure.
