Dublin’s Intermediate Camogie panel get their second Liberty Insurance championship game underway today

Liberty Insurance Intermediate Camogie Live Updates

Dublin v Kildare
Saturday, June 29th. 4:00pm
Parnell’s GAA. Dublin

As the rounds progress in the Liberty Insurance Championship, Dublin return to Parnell’s GAA this afternoon. And they go in search of their first win in the competition.

Kilkenny came to Dublin last week. And they left with the points despite a great effort on the part of Dave Dunning and his relatively new panel of players. And they’ll see today as the perfect opportunity to get some points on the board in the Group 1 table.

The 2-17 to 2-04 scoreline from last week really doesn’t reflect the game itself. But it was Kilkenny who had the edge throughout as the girls in blue adjust to life as intermediate players.

The Dublin Camogie manager has made as many as seven changes to his lineup to start this afternoon clash with Kildare.

Coming into the side are Lauren Robinson, Caoimhe Ní Mhaologáin, Jody Couch, Emma Johnson, Cliodhna Nicoletti, Gaby Couch and Mary Cronin in place of Niamh Gleeson, Grainne Free, Grainne Power, Julie MacDonald, Niamh McCormack, Nadine Murphy, and the suspended Roisin O’Grady. this only goes to reflect in the depth in Dave Dunning’s panel as he tinkers to find the right balance.

Kildare are come this afternoon also looking for their first win of the competition, having played one more game then Dublin. In Round 1 they faced Westmeath in a home tie. But with three points seperating them at the final whistle Kildare had to accept a 2-14 to 3-08 loss.

Last week they welcomed Cork, knowing well this would be a massive fixture. And the girls from the rebel county recovered from their opening day defeat to Kilkenny by tallying a massive 1-22 to Kildare’s 1-06. Today’s game between against Dublin is a tough one to call.
