Group B

Setanta 12-09 (45) castleknock C 1-01 (4)

Before the final round last night we knew that Naomh Maur B had already qualified thanks to a walkover received from Commercials. And all that was left to be decided last night was who was going to secure the second semi final slot in the Junior 4 Camogie Championship. We knew Naomh Mearnog B were in the better position but needed a win over Naomh Peregrine B. And that was exactly the outcome. A 7-14 to 4-06 victory sees Mearnogs through to take the second semi final slot in Group A.

In Group B Setanta and Castleknock were the leading pair going into the final round. And last night was all about deciding the winning positions in the group table. And a 12-09 to 1-01 saw Setanta cruise to victory taking the top spot and giving themselves the desired draw in the Semi Finals. Castleknock C won’t be too disappointed taking the much valued second slot in the knockouts.

Dublin Junior 5 Camogie Championship
Group A
Na Fianna D v Westmanstown (Conceded by Westmanstown)
Thomas Davis B 4-06 (18) Kilmacud Crokes D 5-03 (18)
Group B
Cuala C 9-11 (38) Ballinteer St. Johns C 1-01 (4)
St. Vincents D 4-08 (20) St. Brendans 4-09 (21)

The focus last night in Group A of the JUnior 5 Camogie Championship was all on Thomas Davis B and Kilmacud Crokes D as they went head to head to decide their final postions in the group table. And in an enthralling competition, the sides played out a 4-06 to 5-03 drawn game. That ruled out the head to head result so with a very slight points advantage Kilmacud Crokes finish top of the group and Thomas Davis are runners up. But both will now prepare for the Semi Finals.

A 9-11 to 1-01 win for Cuala C puts the Stillorgan side on top of Group B taking the first of the two semi finals slots in the group. St. Vincents D and St. Brendans were level on points ahead of their final tussle so we were aware this would be a tight affair. And with 1 point seperating the sides at the final whistle, St. Brendans scraped past Vincents to get their grips on that second knockout slot.

Group B

Erins Isle C secured their third win on the bounce to finish top of Group A in the Junior 6 Camogie Championship. They were 5-07 to 0-00 winners over Fingallians B last night, stopping Fingallians chances of securing a semi final slot in the championship. This result means that Na Gaeil Oga take the second semi final berth after receiving a walkover from Ballyboden St. Endas D. That combined with their opening round win over Fingallians was enough to advance taking the second semi final spot.

Three teams finished on 4 points last night in Group B. St. Marks went into last night’s game against Wild Geese in the top spot. Geese were winners by a solitary point however it wasn’t enough to unseat Marks from their semi final slot.
