Dublin senior goalkeeper Faye McCarthy successfully defended her Leinster Poc Fada title this afternoon in Beann Éadair GAA club in Howth.

The Howth club enjoys some of the best views of any club in the country and the sun shone brightly over the event course which incorporates both Beann Éadair and the adjacent Derry Park Golf club.


The U16 and Senior competitions took place today and both were thrilling and very closely fought between the competitors.

Dublin completed a one, two in the Senior competition with Faye completing the course one shot ahead of Dublin compatriot Elaine Gallery.


Senior Results:

1st: Faye McCarthy (Dublin) 19 shots

2nd:
Elaine Gallery (Dublin) 20 shots

3rd:
Emily Mangan (Meath) 20 shots

Faye will now represent Leinster in the All Ireland Poc Fada Finals in August.

Under 16 Results:

1st: Abbye Donnelly (Meath) 23 shots

2nd:
Anais Curran (Wexford) 23 shots

3rd:
Hannah Kelly (Kilkenny) 24 shots

Abbye will now represent Leinster in the All Ireland Poc Fada Finals in August.
