All Ireland Champions Galway Are Dublin’s Opening Opponents In Division 1 Of The 2020 National Camogie League
The Camogie Association has released their ratified fixtures for the 2020 National League and Dublin will face All Ireland Champions Galway in their opening fixture at home.
It’s a mouthwatering start to the new league campaign for Dublin under new manager Willie Braine and his backroom team and it will guarantee they will have to hit the ground running on the first weekend in February.
Dublin are drawn in Group 2 of Division 1 of the 2020 National Camogie League alongside their opening opponents Galway, Tipperary and Limerick.
After the Galway game it’s two away fixtures in a row, on the 23rd of February Dublin head to the Premier County to face Tipperary and then it’s a trip West for their last group game to take on Limerick on the 8th of March.
The other group in Division 1 of the Littlewoods Ireland National Camogie League consists of 2019 All Ireland runners up Kilkenny, Cork, Offaly, Clare and Waterford.
There are no semi finals in Division 1 of the 2020 National Camogie League, that will leave little room for error for all teams who have aspirations of lifting the Division 1 title as the final will be contested by the teams that top Group 1 and 2 on Sunday the 22nd of March.
Of course there is also the prospect of relegation from Division 1 for one of the teams. The bottom team from both groups will meet in a relegation play-off match on the 15th of March with the winners holding on to their Division 1 status for 2021 and loser dropping down to Division 2.
