Saturday’s Game Is A Must Win For Dublin Or Championship Hopes Will End

Dublin Senior Camogie Player Kerrie Finnegan who the Dubs will look to for the vital scores in their must win game against Tipperary

Liberty Insurance Senior All Ireland Camogie Championship Group 2

Tipperary v Dublin

Saturday 13th of July

Venue: The Ragg

Throw-In: 5pm

Referee: Cathal Egan

The Dublin Senior Camogie Team has been named fornthis Saturday’s must win game against Tipperary in the Liberty Insurance Senior All Ireland Championship.

There are two changes to the starting team that began the game against Cork with Alex Griffin coming in for Martha O’Donoghue and Siobhan Kehoe replacing Aisling Maher.

Dublin currently sit fourth in the group and last weeks heavy defeat to Cork and the loss to Waterford in the previous round leaves Frank Browne’s squad in danger of not making the knockout out stages and an early exit from the championship.

With just two rounds of games to go in the group stages, this weekend’s fixture away to Tipp and a home game against Clare next weekend, both games have become must win games if Dublin are to make the quarter-finals.

Tipperary are currently in the final qualifying place and three points ahead of Dublin. They too suffered a heavy defeat to Cork in their opening game but have looked impressive in their wins over Waterford and Clare and with home advantage this weekend will fancy their chances of ending Dublin’s championship hopes and all but securing their place in the quarter-finals.

Dublin’s main struggle has been creating scoring chances, they scored just 1-05 and 0-09 in their previous two games. A similar struggle this weekend and Tipperary will take full advantage and secure the win.

But as this is a must win game for Dublin they will have to go for broke and that change in mindset could make all the difference.
