Plenty of Dublin Minor Camogie action tomorrow in the championships
Sunday, December 2nd 2018
Back at the beginning of November this year’s Dublin Minor Camogie Championships got underway and the action has been thick and fast over the past number of weeks. Next weekend will see the Championships come to a close with the Championship and Shield finals taking place.
That means tomorrow there will be a card of fixtures including Championship and Shield Semi Finals in the A, B and D competitions, along with the last round games in the C and E championships.
So let’s not waste any time, let’s give you all the details.
Minor A Camogie Championship Semi Finals
One win, one draw and one loss saw Ballinteer St. John’s finish behind Kilmacud Crokes in Group 1 to land them a Semi Final slot. And they’l be facing three for three Group 2 winners Ballyboden St. Endas. Boden had comprehensive wins over Naomh Jude, Na Fianna and Castleknock to finish unbeaten.
Kilmacud Crokes were ran close in their last round game against Lucan Sarsfields, but still finished with a clean sweep of three wins. But Naomh Jude will see an opportunity to qualify for the final, having only dropped points to Ballyboden on the opening. Abbotstown awaits the winners of both games next weekend for a mouth watering Minor A Final.
Minor B Camogie Championship Semi Finals
There’s been no stopping Plunketts this year in the Minor B competition, and they’ll fancy their chances against Erins Isle tomorrow morning. Isles went into their last round game hoping to topple St. Vincents but came out the wrong end. but once we get to this stage of the competition, anything can happen.
Vincents ended their Group 2 campaign unbeaten following that win over Erins Isle and will see runners up Good Counsel for their chance to reach the final. Counsel only dropped points to Plunketts following a 0-10 defeat in Round 1 and have rallied since, including a huge 9-13 to 5-04 win over Cuala in Round 2.
Minor D Camogie Championship Semi Finals
Na Fianna B and Faughs/Celtic B topped the two groups in the Minor D Championship. Na Fianna will host Lucan Sarsfields B tomorrow afternoon in their Semi Final. Lucan’s opening day win over Ballyboden was enough to secure second place in Group 2 and a last four slot.
A final round 4-08 to 1-05 win for St. Vincents B over Kilmacud B was also enough to get them into the knockouts, but their opponents Faughs/Celtic will be no pushover.
Here is confirmation of all tomorrow’s Championship, Shield and Group games. First team listed have home advantage, with throw in times quoted for each game.
