Dublin Intermediates Face Two Away Trips In Their First Two Games Of 2020 Littlewoods Ireland National Camogie League
The Dublin Intermediates start their 2020 Littlewoods Ireland National Camogie League Division 2 campaign with an away trip to face Tipperary on the 9th of February.
Dublin are drawn in Group 3 of Division 2 alongside their opening opponents Tipperary, Antrim and Laois. Group 3 is the smallest of the three groups.
Group 1 consists of Wexford, Galway, Derry, Kerry and Down and Group 2 is made up of Kilkenny, Westmeath, Meath, Kildare and Cork.
It will be a challenging start for Dave Dunning’s Dublin Intermediates who will follow up an away trip to Tipp with another away fixture to face Antrim on the 23rd of February and will then play Laois at home on Sunday the 8th of March.
The Dublin Intermediates will be hoping to avoid a repeat of last seasons league campaign which seen them finish bottom of their group.
That left them with the unenviable prospect of a relegation play-off against Carlow to secure their Division 2 status. Thankfully for Dublin they found their mojo in that game to win by 2-16 to 1-06 but they don’t want to end up in the same situation in 2020.
As far as the League Final is concerned the top team in each of the groups will go into a draw. The first team drawn will go straight into the final with the other two teams facing off in a semi final.
The same scenario will apply to the relegation play-off with one of the three teams that finish bottom of their group drawn to play in the second play-off with the other two teams facing each other in the first relegation play-off.
