Dublin Club Championships Start This Week:
Club championship time, the most exciting time of the year is upon us. The adult championships start on Tuesday the 23rd and Thursday the 25th August, while the juveniles begin their championships on 27th and 28th of August – under 14/under 16 on Saturday – under13/under 15 on Sunday. Check website and Facebook for details of fixtures etc. Best of luck to all clubs in the upcoming juvenile and adult championships.
Application For Senior Intercounty Management:
Closing date for receipt of applications is Monday, 22 August. Completed applications should be returned to Brendan Cooper, Rúnaí, Dublin Camogie, by emailing secretary.dublin.camogie@gaa.ie
The Board will facilitate the process of appointing the new management without undue delay.
Under 12 School Of Excellence:
This year’s U-12 School of Excellence will take place in the Phoenix Park between Friday the 2nd of September and Friday the 30th of September. ( 5 sessions ).
Nomination form must be completed for each individual girl. The County Board will NOT accept a list of girls names only as we need to have very specific details relating to each girl. In addition the County Board will not be able to accept a girl just turning up on the night without having first, completed a nomination form in advance.
This is a child protection issue which must strictly be adhered to. Because of the likely high numbers attending we are changing the structure this year and will run two sessions each Friday ( 6pm to 7pm & 7pm to 8pm). Closing date for receipt of nominations will be Friday 26th Aug. All nominations to secretary.dublin.camogie@gaa.ie. Further details on website.
Intercounty Scene:
The season for Dublin Senior, Premier Junior and Minor teams has now concluded. One remaining game to play for the under 16s. They play Kilkenny in the Leinster under 16 Shield final on the 28th of August. Best of luck to our fellow Leinster county teams in next month’ Camogie All Ireland finals – Carlow in the Premier Junior and Kilkenny in the Seniors.
Adult 7-A-Side Summer Cup:
The inaugural Adult 7s recently came to a conclusion in the Phoenix Park. This new format of Summer competition seems to have been very successful. Players seem to draw great enjoyment from the games and the smaller numbers ensured that players were more involved in the games than at the 15 aside level.
Get your tickets for the Liberty Insurance All Ireland Camogie finals in Croke Park on Sunday 11th September.
Kilmacud Crokes All Ireland Camogie Sevens takes place on Saturday the 10th of September.
