Dublin hoping lessons learned in the early rounds of the league will be key in their Division 1 relegation play-off against Clare

The Dublin Senior Camogie Squad who face Clare tomorrow in the Division 1 relegation playoff.

Dublin Senior Camogie manager Adrian O’Sullivan has named the team he hopes will maintain his sides league status as they face Clare in their Division 1 relegation play-off.

New manager O’Sullivan and his squad had little time to get to know each other before heading into league action but both parties will be hoping that lessons learned in their group games will be vital in securing their a Division 1 status for next season with victory over Clare.

Dublin provided stiff opposition for All-Ireland champions Kilkenny in round 1 of the Littlewoods Ireland National Camogie Leagues eventually suffering defeat by 1-08 to 0-06.

Offaly were the opposition for round 2 with the Dubs needing a win to avoid being embroiled in a relegation battle. O’Sullivans side were level at half-time and then had their best spell of the game on the resumption and led by six at one stage.

But the concession of three very poor goals stopped them in their tracks and Offaly held on for a two point win on a scoreline of 4-07 to 1-14.

Although not the result they wanted there was plenty to be optimistic about from the Dublin performance and if they have tightened up the defence for tomorrow’s game they have every chance to claim their first win of 2021.

Clare similarly are looking to find their name in the win column this year after suffering defeats to Galway by 3-11 to 0-15 and Limerick by 2-14 to 1-11.

They certainly have plenty of forward talent in the shape of Chloe Morey and Eimear Kelly to name just two who given enough quality ball will cause Dublin plenty of problems and it will be vital for O’Sullivans side to disrupt those supply lines.

Both sides will be desperate to remain in Division 1 and looking at the teams league campaigns to date tomorrow’s relegation play-off could very well be decided by the smallest of margins.

Tomorrow’s game takes place in St Brendan’s Park in Birr in Offaly at 5pm and the game will be Live streamed on the Dublin Camogie YouTube channel.
