We have a huge afternoon of camogie coming up this afternoon at Parnells GAA Club in Coolock. Dublin Camogie host a League and Championship double header welcoming teams from Offaly and Derry for two massive games.

Leinster U16 Camogie Championship Round 1

First up today sees Dublin’s U16 panel commence their Leinster Championship campaign against Offaly. A recent visit to see the girls train has excited us as the team have worked hard to prepare for this competition and beyond. Last year’s competition saw the girls in blue win two of their three round games, picking up victories over Wexford and today’s opponents Offaly on their way to the Leinster Final. Kilkenny proved a thorn in their side though beating narrowly in Round 2, and again in the championship final by an 0-11 deficit.

But today’s starts a brand new year under new management, and we expect big things from this group of players. The action gets underway at 1:30pm

Littlewoods National Camogie League Division 2

Dublin’s Intermediate panel face a stiff challenge today as Derry arrive in Dublin unbeaten in the Division 2 campaign. For Dublin, they still seek their first win, having lost to Antrim, Laois and Kilkenny. But there’s plenty of talent in the ranks, despite recent results, and the girls will want to finish on a high ahead of their championship campaign.

Derry’s task today is the remain unbeaten in the group and go above Kilkenny in the by three clear points. Kilkenny finish their group campaign with three wins from four, having only dropped points against Derry. So the Derry girls are still on course for a 100% win record.

This game throws in at 3:00pm following the U16 Leinster fixture.
