It’s the business end of the All Ireland Minor Camogie Championship, and Dublin’s Minor Panel are still in the mix after a hotly contested round robin phase. But it was a crucial win over Tipperary a couple of weeks ago that opened the door for the young Dubs to advance to this afternoon’s Quarter Final tie.
After opening day disappointment, losing to Galway by a solitary point, John O’Connell regrouped his charges for an impressive road trip to The Ragg. Their convincing 3-21 to 1-13 win over Tipperary was the tonic needed to prove to the players that the opening round was just a blip.
So the Group 1 runners up will go head to head with Waterford this afternoon. Waterford won their opener against Wexford by 3-14 to 2-11, but fell to Kilkenny in their final round game by 2-11 to 1-14. All it means is this afternoon’s tie is wide open and anyones for the taking. It’s runner up versus runner up for a place in thie year’s All Ireland Minor Camogie Semi Finals.
