We’re in Portlaoise this afternoon for some All Ireland Minor Camogie Action between Laois and Dublin

Minor Camogie - All Ireland Championship

Laois v Dublin
Saturday, March 7th. 2:30pm
Clonad GAA, Portlaoise

Today for Dublin’s Minor Camogie panel it will hopefully be a case of building on a really positive start. The girls in blue issued a statement of intent in the opening round of the championship, beating reigning champions Cork by 1-12 to 1-09.

Despite the country being gripped by Storm Dennis, the girls showed true grit, determination and skill in a very entertaining game of Camogie in Bray. And this afternoon we’re hoping for more of the same.

Laois come into today’s game following a 4-04 to 1-05 defeat to Wexford in their opening round game. And it’s something the Laois backroom team must be concerned with.

Dublin name a changed starting 15 to the side that started and beat Cork in Round 1. Coming into the side are goalkeeper Sophie Brennan, defenders Christine Shanahan, Issy Davis and Éirin Kennedy and forwards Anna Sullivan, Caitlin Coffey, Ellie Kane and Mollie Turner.

That sees Ciara Jones, Ali Dunne, Rachel Seery, Cara Feeney, Katie McDonald, Aisling O’Neill, Róisín Ní Chathasaigh and Lucy Quinn named among the Dublin replacements. But they may be a little tinkering before throw in.

Let’s hope we’re celebrating back to back wins as we leave Clonad GAA later this afternoon.
