Keep up to speed with the action from this afternoon’s All Ireland Minor Camogie Championship Clash
Dublin v Galway
Saturday, March 23rd. 2:00pm
Parnells GAA, Dublin
With two games under their belt already Dublin should have an advantage in terms of match sharpness today. And that could prove the difference. Galway play their first game this afternoon in this year’s Minor A Camogie Championship. Their games against Wexford and Cork were both rescheduled.
After losing to Tipp in the last round a victory against Galway is vital for Dublin to keep their title ambitions on track. Manager Willie Braine will be looking again for the spirit and drive they showed in their opening encounter against Wexford. That day Dublin ran out comfortable 2-14 to 0-11 winners. They faced a powerful presence in Tipperary last day out and had a huge deficit to claw back in the second half, falling short in the end by five points on a final score of 3-14 to 2-09 in Tipp’s favour.
There are a number of personnel and positional changes made by the Dublin boss this afternoon. Georgia Plowman takes over in goals in place of Ciara Jones, Emma Parker takes the number 2 jersey with Issy Davis switching to the halfback line. Kerry Milne from Naomh Fionnbarra, who performed well when coming on as a sub against Tipperary, slots in at corner back in place of Aoife Byrne.
Ciara Clohessy switches to centre half back from wing back, and Elyse Jamieson Murphy moving to corner forward in place of Hollyn Kennedy. Captain Niamh Gannon moves into midfield from centre half forward with Katie McDonald coming into the side at number 11.
