DUBLIN U21 AND SENIOR TRIALS 2015
Dublin U21 and Senior Team Trials 2015:
2014 has been a tremendous season for the Capital, in June Dublin where crowned U21 All Ireland champions for the first time while at senior level Dublin captured their fifth Leinster title in a row on route to reaching the All Ireland senior final only to lose out narrowly to Cork.
Back in May Dublin competed in their first division 1 NFL final and last Saturday four Dublin players Sinead Goldrick, Noelle Healy, Lyndsey Davey and Sinead Aherne where named on the All Star team of 2014.
Dublin LGFA would like to build on from the successful foundations that were set in 2014 and would welcome nominations from clubs for the 2015 Dublin U21 and Senior Inter County panels.
Dublin U21 eligibility:
To be eligible to be considered for the Dublin U21 panel of 2015 players must be registered members of a club over 18 years of age and under 21 on the 1st of January 2015 (players born 1994/1995/1996).
Your club mentors knowledge of your players should be used judiciously to only send forward for trials a player or players who they deem to have a reasonable chance of being in the final 30 of the whole County.
Nominating a girl who is not accurately near the standard to make the final 30 will only prove to be very disheartening for the player in question. Dublin LGFA is appealing to your mentors not to view Dublin U21 trials as a mechanism to “reward” players
Dublin manager Gregory McGonigle will also welcome senior nominations players should possess the attributes, commitment and dedication required to play at top flight Inter County level and players must be registered members of a club.
Nominations will only be accepted from Club Secretaries or known club sources.
The nomination form can be used to nominate both U21 and senior nominees please note that the deadline for submission of nominations will be 5pm Thursday 20th November 2014.
