Two huge games in this year’s Dublin SFC between old rivals in Parnell Park
Dublin Football fans are in for a real treat tomorrow in Parnell Park, with a Double Header to wet the tastebuds. And both games will be broadcast exclusively live on eir sport.
St. Brigids v Castleknock
The first game at 4:00pm sees two neighbouring clubs go head to head as St. Brigids take on Castleknock. Brigids fell to Ballymun Kickhams in Round 1 and will be looking to make up some ground before the inter county break. Castleknock had a very convincing win over Clontarf and are looking sharp.
Paddy Andrews recently spoke to eir sport and explained what it means to him to still have the opportunity to play with his club while on a break from the Dublin Senior Football team, and says the lads are really looking forward to this weekend’s game against their local rivals.
St. Vincents v Na Fianna
At 5:45pm its the turn of the reigning county champions St. Vincents, who will face Na Fianna, a team they are very familiar with, and there’s been some great battle between these two sides over the years. Vinnies registered a 5-18 to 1-09 win over Skerries Harps in then opening round, showing exactly why they are the champions in this competition, and will be looking forward to this round to hopefully add more points to their tally.
Na Fianna left it late against Lucan Sarsfields in Round 1 but definitely finished with an extra bounce in their step. Never one to step away from a challenge, the men from Mobhi Road will face their rivals head on tomorrow in the hope of overtaking them.
Shane Carthy has had a good run with Dublin so far this year, but is looking to get more game time under his belt with St. Vincents. He’s looking forward to testing himself against fellow Dublin team mates Jonny Cooper and Eoghan Murchan, and isn’t underestimating the opponents despite Vincent’s track record against them.
Eir sport will begin their broadcast tomorrow with their build up from 3:30pm in Parnell Park ahead of the first throw in at 4:00pm. Both games will be exclusively live in HD on eir sport 1 with the games repeated over the weekend for anyone that wants to watch back.
