Dublin Behind At The Break in All Ireland Semi Final.

Half-Time in the All Ireland Senior Football Championship Semi Final between Dublin and Donegal in Croke Park and Donegal lead at the break on a scoreline of:

Dublin 0-10 Donegal 1-08

Dublin started the game on fire and just blew Donegal apart. Donegal set up their usual blanket defence but Dublin set the intentions to counter this by kicking points from long range with Paul Flynn and Diarmuid Connolly leading the way.

Dublin were winning the battle around the middle third and Donegal at this stage just didn’t know what hit them. But they started to slow the pace of the game right down with Donegal’s number one taking an age with the kickouts.

Dublin fell into the trap and their own high pace dropped and Donegal started to get more into the game. Dublin spurned two goal chances one for Bernard Brogan and an even better chance for Connolly.

Donegal started to get their running game going and some softly awarded frees cut Dublin’s five point lead. Then disaster struck when a high ball was spilled by Rory O’Carroll and Donegal finished it to the back of the net to put them in front for the first time in the game.

It was a very strange half with Dublin dominating most of it but find themselves behind at the break and they will have to get back to the high pace they started the game with in the second half as Donegal really struggled with for the first twenty minutes of the game. -Nigel IMG_8100.JPG
