2014 Has Been A Champagne Year For Dublin’s Ladies And Mens Footballers Already.

As the Dublin Senior Footballers prepare to do battle with Monaghan in the All Ireland Quarter-Final,I thought even though there is still plenty of football left I’d reflect on what so far has been an extremely successful year for Dublin’s ladies and men’s footballers.

Dublin are Leinster Football Champions at Senior,U21 and Minor levels and are also All Ireland U21 Champions in both the Ladies and Men’s codes. You can also add in the Dublin’s U14’s and U16’s Ladies football squads who are also Leinster Champions. Also Dublin’s Senior men’s squad retained the league division one title earlier this year.

All of these titles have been won playing open, attractive, attacking football that has been a joy to behold. It has been full of outrageously skillful play full of pace, power, athleticism, pinpoint passing, shooting accuracy, high fielding, ferocious tackling and defending which the players and their coaches should be very proud of.

The entertainment and excitement each of these squads have served up in each game this year has been from the top table and has been a feast of football to savour.

But it’s not finished yet there is more silverware to be claimed and more excitement to be had over the next two months in both codes and I for one can’t wait.

So let’s get out and support both our Ladies and Men’s Football Stars and cheer them on to further glory they deserve every ounce of support we as supporters can give them.
