ROUND TOWER POWER THEIR WAY TO THE WE ARE DUBLIN SENIOR 7 CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY.

Round Tower 4-02
Ballinteer St Johns 0-00

A luckless Ballinteer St Johns could not complain at the end of a very comprehensive performance from Round Tower.

It took the Clondalkin side 12 minutes to open their account as the Ballinteer side were more than a match.

But following a free from Niamh Murphy, Round Tower found their groove and three goals in four minutes put them on the road to victory.

The first came from a spectacular over her head handpass by Ciara Ni Riain in the 14th minute. Three minutes later a double whammy when Val Kelly-Kennedy and Nadine Salinger both goaled.

Ballinteer tried hard to react especially Brona Fagan, Grainne Friel and Laoise Tully but Jenny Byrne and Trish Egan were anchoring the central positions in the Tower defence with assurance.

A fourth goal almost on half time by Sarah Muldowney gave Ballinteer a huge hill to climb in the second half.

To their credit they tried all the could and were unlucky not to see a few frees from very difficult angles go over. As it was the only score of the half came from the stick of Sarah Muldowney.
