Dublin U16A’s Lose Thriller
Full-Time in the All Ireland U16A Camogie Championship Game between Dublin and Galway in Parnells Gaa,Coolock and Galway have beaten Dublin on a scoreline of:
Dublin 1-10 Galway 1-13
Dublin were very unlucky after a titanic battle in the second half to come out on the losing side today.
Galway came out for the second thirty minutes with the bit between their teeth and raised their level to show why they were unbeaten and top of the group.
It was nip and tuck for the opening fifteen minutes with both sides trading points but Dublin just holding the edge. Then two unanswered points by Galway was followed up by a goal to give the tribes women the lead for the first time a lead they never relinquished.
Dublin did have their chances and would of had two goals only for the over zealous referee who was a little too quick in blowing his whistle for frees and if he had waited a couple of seconds to give Dublin the advantage the green flag would have been raised twice.
Dublin did have one last chance to snatch a draw when they were awarded a penalty late on but it was just about turned around the post and Galway held on for the victory.
Dublin can hold their heads high after an excellent display and they will come back even stronger next season. -Nigel
