Tonight in the business centre in the Red Cow Moran Hotel the new Dublin Senior Camogie Management Team were presented to the excited waiting media from both the print media, radio and social media.

The air in the room crackled with electricity as the members of the team spoke enthusiastically about the job ahead of returning Dublin Senior Camogie to the top table and once again feasting on the three course meals of League and Championship success, something long overdue for the ravenous players and supporters in the capital.

Each member of the management team who were in attendance tonight,Manager Shane O’Brien,Team Advisor Michael O’Grady,Selector Shane Dalton,Strength and Conditioning Coach/Physiotherapist Derek Ryan and Team Ambassador Danny Sutcliffe spoke of their high hopes for the season and their enthusiasm for getting the ball rolling at the trials next Monday night when they will see first hand the talent that is available to them for the new season.

Sentiments I’m sure that would have been echoed by selector John Treacy who unfortunately was unavailable tonight due to working commitments but is raring to go on Monday Night and looking forward to working with the players.

The other thing that was very evident tonight was when the whole management team was together in the room you can really sense how impressive a line-up it is and it is a real statement of intent for the season ahead from Dublin Senior Camogie.

The excitement didn’t just end with the management team as the Dublin Camogie executive committee in attendance including County Board Chairman Patrick Martin and Vice Chairman Brendan Cooper are brimming with anticipation and enthusiasm for the new season and what it will bring and both themselves and the rest of the executive committee deserve huge kudos for putting such an impressive management team in place.

So 2015 is going to be a really exciting year for Dublin Camogie and I for one can’t wait to see how it unfolds. THE FUTURES BRIGHT THE FUTURES BLUE. -Nigel.
