Dublin Junior Premier Full-Time Report.

Full-Time in Liberty Insurance Premier Junior All Ireland Championship game between Dublin and Westmeath in O’Toole Park,Crumlin and Westmeath have beaten Dublin on a scoreline of:

Dublin 2-05 Westmeath 3-12

Dublin were completely outplayed in the second half of today’s game. Westmeath totally dominated the second thirty minutes and out muscled Dublin all over the pitch.

Dublin allowed themselves to be bullied off the ball and Westmeath won all the fifty fifty balls and put the Dublin back line under immense pressure. Another area Dublin will be concerned about is the high wide count they had today from both placed balls and open play.

The concession of two very poor second half goals and a succession of easy frees which Westmeath easily took with the aid of the strong breeze behind their backs knocked the stuffing out of Dublin and they just couldn’t get any change up front out of the Westmeath backs who cleared the ball time after time and held Dublin to just two second half points.

Dublin will be very disappointed in their display today which was way below par and they will now have three weeks to sort things out before they play their All Ireland Semi Final and they will know that unless they are at their best their season will finish agonizingly close to the big prize. -Nigel
