DUBLIN CAMOGIE WEEKLY NOTES

County Board Meeting:

Please note that that County Board meeting on Monday night the 11th of July has been postponed to Monday the 18th of July in Parnell Park at the usual times of 7pm and 7.45pm

Leinster Poc Fada:

Best of luck to Erin’s Isle‘s Megan Thomas and to Naomh Jude’s Faye McCarthy who represent Dublin in the Leinster under 16 and adult Poc Fada competition in Beann Eadair this coming Saturday 16 July.

Juvenile Championships:

The draw for this year’s Juvenile Championships will take place at our July Board meeting on Monday the 18th of July. Management will meet on Thursday to consider requests. Recommendations will be brought back to next Mondays Board meeting.

Intercounthy Senior Championship:

Well done to our senior players and management who put the disappointment of last week’s loss to Galway behind them with a great display when drawing 2-08 to 0-14 with Tipperary in the Ragg on Saturday.

Best of luck against Derry this coming Saturday 16th July. Dublin need to beat Derry by 26 points to book their place in the quarter finals. Some ask! But that’s the challenge.

Intercounty Under 16 Championship:

Building on their great result last week against Limerick, the under 16A team produced the goods again this week when defeating a strong Clare side 1-14 to 1-08 on Sunday.

Our under 16B team proved much too strong for Down winning comfortably on a score 5-17 to 1-02. Next Sunday the A side is away to Waterford, while the B side travel to Derry.

Intercounty Premier Junior:

Tough luck on our Premier Juniors who lost to Westmeath in their champioonship game on Sunday in Westmeath. Best of luck on Sunday when they travel to Carlow.

Senior 1 Summer Cup:

Well done to Ballyboden St. Endas on winning the Senior 1 Summer Cup final 2-09 to 3-07 after an exciting extra time against Lucan Sarsfields in Sancta Maria grounds last Tuesday evening.

Dublin Under 14 Blitz:

Well done to the many teams from all over the country and of course the Dublin teams who participated in the Dublin under 14 Blitz held in Naomh Mearnog on Saturday the 9th of July. Our thanks to Naomh Mearnóg for their excellent hosting of this large event.
