DUBLIN CAMOGIE WEEKLY NOTES.

The Executive of Dublin Camogie is proud to announce the appointment of Shane O’Brien (Cuala) as the new manager of the Dublin Senior team for 2015. Shane’s impressive back room team will be announced on Tuesday evening. We assure Shane of the full backing and support of the County Board and wish him every success.

Trials for the Senior and Premier Junior teams will be held on Monday 1st of December An Runai, Mona O’Sullivan, has sent details to all clubs. Venue and time TBC – check www.dublincamogie.ie. Please ensure that all players in your club have been notified about the trials. Exciting times ahead.

Minor A, B and C championships continue on Sunday, 23 November. Check dublincamogie.ie for results. Semi-finals are scheduled for Sunday 30 November. The finals are scheduled for Sunday 7 December.

U12 School of Excellence: Due to the inclement weather and poor pitch conditions the final session for the above group was postponed. It will now take place on Saturday Nov 22 in Alfie Byrne Park (all-weather pitch), Clontarf from 2-4pm. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Alice O’Reilly scored a sideline cut for Maryfield in a recent schools match against Dominicans. Nadine Murphy (right) scored a sideline cut for Dominicans also in a recent schools match against Our Ladys, Templeogue. Nadine was also the first player in Dublin to score a point from side line cut. Both girls are members of the Vincents under 16 team.

Adult Presentation will take place on Saturday night 29 November in Westmanstown while the Juvenile Presentations will take place on Sunday, 30 November. More details to follow.

Dublin Convention is scheduled for Monday. 10 December in Parnell Park. An Rúnaí, Mona O’Sullivan, has sent all the relevant information to clubs. Clubs are reminded of the deadlines for return of nominations etc.

Transition year & Gaisce – The Transition Year Camogie programme took place in September and October. We had 51students complete the first whistle referee course and 42 complete the Foundation Coaching course – a full list of the names & clubs of all participants will be sent to clubs and will be available on www.dublincamogie.ie so students can start practising their new skills in club nurseries and with go games teams.
