DUBLIN CAMOGIE WEEKLY NOTES.

The Dublin Camogie Board extends its deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the late Andy Kettle, Chair of the Dublin GAA Board. Andy was a great supporter of the entire GAA family and his loss will be deeply felt. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.

AIG is sponsoring the annual Dub Star games in Camogie and Ladies Football will take place on Sunday 28th December at Parnells GAA club. The Camogie game will start at 12.45 while the Ladies football game gets matters under way at 12 noon. Team details are posted on the Dublin Camogie website.

Congratulations to Laura Twomey (Naomh Mearnóg) who captains the Dublin side and to Aoife Cullen (Naomh Uinsionn) who captains the Dub Stars’ side.

After the successful Minor trials held at Parnells GAA club 30 players have been invited onto the Dublin Minor panel. Check names on www.dublincamogie.ie

Under 15 School of Excellence – clubs are invited to send up to 2 girls born in the year 2000 who were not on the 2014 Dublin U14 squad, to attend a series of School of Excellence Coaching session and assessments with the 2015 Dublin U15 Camogie Development Management team. The initial sessions will take place, pitch and weather permitting, in Ballinteer St. Johns All-weather facility (beside Ballinteer Community School, Broadford Road) Friday 9th Jan 6:30pm & Sun 11th Jan 9am. Dates, times and venues for further sessions are yet to be confirmed. Minimum requirements as set out below – reasonable level of fitness, Strike the ball on the run on both sides, Hook & Block, Solo, jab lift on the run under pressure and catch overhead under pressure. Be assured that the Management team for Dublin U15 Development Squad 2015 will continue to look for talented players throughout next year.

The Dublin Annual Awards Night will take place in Westmanstown Sports and Conference Centre on Saturday 31st January 2015. Tickets are priced at € 20 each and includes a 3 course Sit down meal, music, raffle, awards and plenty of craic. Any victorious adult clubs and teams from 2014 are encouraged to take a table for this enjoyable celebration evening. Awards to the club will include Club of the year, Championship, league etc. Tickets will be available to purchase at the Dub-Stars this coming Sunday 28th December from 12 noon which takes place in Parnells GAA, Coolock. Alternatively, tickets can be requested through the Rúnaí at Secretary.camogie.dublin@gaa.ie
