CAMOGIE WEEKLY NOTES.

We are Dublin Senior championship finals continued in O’Toole Park on Sunday. Congratulations to Castleknock who defeated Ballyboden St. Endas 1-07 to 2-03 to win the Senior 6 title. Round Towers proved too good for Ballinteer St. Johns 2 when capturing the Senior 7 title. This year’s Senior championships were a great success. Our thanks to Dublin GAA and Crumlin for the use of O’Toole Park and the clubhouse facilities for all 7 finals over the last 3 weekends. Well done to Brendan Cooper and the Fixtures committee.

30 underage finals (15 championship and 15 Shield) were played throughout the capital on Saturday and Sunday – all championship finals were decided while we had 2 draws in the shield finals. Our thanks to Naomh Olaf, Naomh Mearnog, Naomh Brid and Faughs/Celtic for hosting these finals. Well done to the Minor Board on the excellent organisation involved in staging Juvenile finals without a hitch. Details can be viewed on www.dublincamogie.ie.

Minor A, B and C championships start on Sunday 9, November. Semi-finals are scheduled for Sunday 30 November. The finals are scheduled for Sunday 7 December.

U12 School of Excellence:

The final session for this year will be held in the Phoenix Park on Saturday November 16th (10am-1pm). The session will take a mini-blitz format. Players who attended at any stage during the summer sessions are invited to attend. Clubs are asked to bring this notice to the attention of their U12 mentors.

Level 2 coaching course:

Limited Free places on pilot Level 2 coaching course in Clonmel – 14/15th Nov, 22/23rd Nov, 29th November. Prospective participants must have completed Camogie Coaching Course Level.

Dublin Winter workshops and courses 2014-2015:

Damien Young will deliver the first workshop ‘effective coaching aids.’ 5th November Whitehall Colmcilles GAA Club 9.30am-4.30pm Caman Get a Grip. Transition year & Gaisce:

The Transition Year Camogie programme took place in September and October. We had 51students complete the first whistle referee course and 42 complete the Foundation Coaching course – a full list of the names & clubs of all participants will be sent to clubs and will be available on www.dublincamogie.ie so students can start practising their new skills in club nurseries and with go games teams.

Leinster Club Forum:

Leinster Camogie in conjunction with the Camogie Association would like to invite you all to attend a “Club and County” forum which will be held in Croke Park on the 8th of November.
